               ==========================================

WARNING : THIS IS LONG POSTING. SO PLEASE STAY AWAKE TILL THE END !!
=====================================================================

I am trying to develop a Multimedia system based on the Commodore Amiga
that will have the following features :

1) Live Motion Video input facility.
2) Audio recording and stereo playback facility.
3) Still Image digitizing facility.
4) Combination of (1), (2), (3) with 3D high res shaded models
   with real-time animation.
5) Real-time playback, with ability to access
   any part of the application software in a random manner.
6) Compact disk for storage and retrieval of software.

At this stage I have not zeroed(?) down on any specific application, but
most probably will develop one for interactive training and simulation of
natural phenomena, and (poor man's) scientific visualization. This will
involve combination of motion video, 3D Graphics images (of objects and
natural scenes) shaded using Ray tracing/Radiosity methods, and sound.
Real-time Animation is also an important requirement and I plan to use
Behavioural/Physicaly based methods to move my graphics models around.

I am putting together the specifications of the proposed system and hence
would like to get feedback from persons/organizations involved in similar
projects. Now I know about a technology called DVI(Digital Video Interactive)
originally developed at the David Sarnoff Laboratories(now Intel Princeton
Operations, New Jersey) that does just the same, but on an IBM PC/AT.

Does anybody know of third parties supplying add-on boards/software for doing
the above on an Amiga based system ? I am interested only in boards that
give 1280X1024 non-interlaced 32/16 bit plane capabilities.

Would someone advise about suitability of Lisp as a common tool for both
graphics and animation on the Amiga ? If Lisp is not suitable for high
res graphics on the Amiga, how does one interact with C code handling
grahics operations and Lisp doing the animation bit ?

I am transfering school shortly, hence please send replies to me at the
following address :

once again, sorry about the long list of requests.
