rlcarr@athena.mit.edu (the Wizard of Speed and Time) (12/13/89)
My setup: A2000 (1 meg chip RAM) 4 meg fast RAM HardFrame/2000 SCSI controller SyQuest SQ555 removable platter drive 2 SQ400 disk cartridges My questions: 1) Microbotics's RDPrep defaults to a MaxTransfer of 131072 bytes. What is the optimum number for the SyQuest? Also, what kind of speeds (from diskperf) are typical for the SyQuest/HardFrame combination? 2) Can I use diskcopy to back up one cart to another, even though I only have a single drive? How do I do it? Someone has told me what he did, but when I do it, the diskcopy command just hangs and does nothing. As I don't terribly want to backup to 40 disks and then restore to the other cart, please, please answer if you can. Thanks in advance!! -- Rich Carreiro - Most Biased Boston Celtics Fan!
