[comp.sys.amiga.tech] A2620 / Microbotics hard card problem.

koshy@abekrd.UUCP (Koshy Abraham) (12/13/89)

I'm sorry if this subject has been dealt with before. If it has I've
missed it.

A friend of mine has an A2000 with the A2620 prcessor board. It seems that
when he tries to use the Micrbotics hard card with the system it just refuses
to work.

The hard card works when connected to a normal A2000, i.e. without the A2620,
and the A2620 works if the hard card is not plugged in.

If anyone else has had similar problems with this combination, I would very
much like to hear from you. Help on how to overcome the problem will be much
appreciated.

If it helps, he has a Rev 4.3 motherboard in his A2000, with the 3K3 ohm
resistor kludge on IC U605 (I think).

Thanks in advance,
Koshy.

Early Hardframe controllers had a hardware bug that pretty much remains hidden
until you plug an A2620 or similar CPU-slot device into the system. Microbotics
came up with a fix for it about a day after we determined the nature of the
bug; I'd suggest contacting Microbotics for more information.
