[comp.sys.amiga.tech] A2620, rev.4.2 motherboard

gregg@hrshcx.UUCP (Gregg D. Asherman) (12/14/89)

I just installed my A2620 board and I can not go into
68000 mode, the machine just hangs with the orange screen from the selection
menu.

History.

my system has a :

4.2 mother board ( could this be a problem??)
IVS trumpcard and an ST277N (SCSI)
	MaxHackers HD controller (MFM non-DMA)
2058 memory board with 4meg on board

This setup does seem to work in 68020 mode, but again it hangs when I try
to get into the 68000 mode of operation.

Help Help.... I don't want to replace the mother board ( ouch).

But a local shop has said it may very well be the rev of the mother board
that is causing this problem...

ALSO:

Are there any good benchmark type programs to check the speed of the system

Any help , comments, and programs are greatly appreciated.

It could be that the revision of the motherboard. I just ran into many
problems trying to get the A2630 to work in my 4.1 motherboard. Commodore
replied that the board will not function in a revision less than 4.5 and
that I needed to get a 4.5 upgrade. They also said that the dealer that sold
me the card should do it for only the cost of labor.

This may only apply to the new 2630 since it runs at a higher clock speed.
Hopefully this is of some help.
