Everyone who refers to colleges requiring computers of their freshman seems to think that CMU is the first. I'll say it now, and I'll say it loud: Clarkson College is buying their freshman computers! And not just a measly Atari, like Stevens is buying their engineering freshmen. Clarkson is giving every freshman, even the hockey players, a Zenith Z-100 computer (dual 8085-8088, 128K, 640 x 290 bit-mapped graphics). Yes, that's right, little Clarkson College of Technology, in upstate New York, is giving their freshman computers. Of course, there is a little matter of tuition going up by $200 per semester. But Clarkson is the very first to give every incoming freshman a computer. !flame off! You see, the reason I'm so pissed is that I'm going back to school at Clarkson for a phd. My assistantship and probably dissertation will involve writing network software to inter- connect all of the computers together Russ Nelson ...kirk!russ
