It could be the revision of your motherboard that could be the culprit. Upon installing the A2630 in my rev. 4.1 motherboard I experienced the same failure. I had been advised by someone at Commodore that I would need to upgrade my motherboard to 4.5 and that this should only involve the cost of labor with the purchase of the card. I do not represent Commodore in any way and do not guarantee that my info is correct beyond my current condition. As to the revision problem I think it a good idea to have your machine brought up to the 4.5 rev but I think that you might want to check the rev numbers of the roms on the 2620. If you do not have the latest then that might be the the thing to look into. The latest roms can be purchased from your dealer through the parts department. This was the soulution I used when having the same difficulty on my machine and found that it worked fine after the new revs were installed. Hope this helps out. Could you PLEASE tell us what the current REV of the ROMS might be. Such teasers really pique the curiosity. -- Jim Sanchez {sun, hplabs}!sytek!syteke!jim OR Hughes LAN Systems, Brussels uunet!prlb2!sunbim!syteke!jim
