A friend of mine has a Rev 3 B2000. He has put in the Super Agnus chip twice now, with two different chips, but is still getting weird, "salt-like" sprinkling in HAM pictures and scrambled objects in animations, sometimes leading to GURUs. His J500 location was a jumper, not a trace, and he removed the jumper. The Agnus chips both came from the same dealer. Today we noticed that the part number seemed odd. On both of the new Super Agnus chips the number is 8370. This is the same number that is on the 512k Agnus that he removed. The installation directions indicate that the 1 meg Agnus is part number 8372. In another source we have seen it referred to as 8372A. Now the punchline: Did this dealer sell the guy not one, but two *old* Agnus chips?!? Or is this too obvious to be the solution? If anyone could shed light on the numbering or on any other possibilities for the weird video stuff, please speak up... Ned Schultz nschultz@polyslo.calpoly.edu
