I know at least two other people out there in net-land that are having the same problem as I. Unfortunately, I lost their mail addresses. I posted this problem once before, but never saw the reply (too many exams to study for. No time to read news.) The problem is: My system locks up (sometimes ) when accessing the second partition of my hard drive. It usually happens when I copy files between partitions, but also happens by simply using the Workbench "Info" command on a file on the second partition. It seems to occur when both partitions are being accessed at the same time (ie: file copies between partitions; compiling with in- clude files on one partition and source code on the other; ...) When it "locks up", the following happens: Workbench freezes and workbench icons are no longer redrawn. Intuition is still func- tioning (windows, screens, window/screen gadgets.) Any task that was running will continue to do so until it tries to access the hard drive or floppies, at which point that task freezes. Is this an amiga-dos problem, hd-controller, mountlist parame- ters, bad luck .... I've tried many things, including a new con- troller. The drive is a Seagate 157N, with a controller by Expansion Tech, used on an Amiga-500, OS-1.3, Fast File System. Any idea what's wrong??? Anyone who has this problem (especially with an Expansion Tech. drive) please send me mail. Thomas A. Mikalsen "The gold is for us to capture all we want." R.I.T. (Sound-Chaser)
