Frankly, I have enjoyed the columns despite there relative lack of "scientific" judgment. If one wants to learn a particular subject, the column is not the place to go. On the other hand it does seem to represent well the trials and tribulations of a non computer type, non scientific background person who is attempting to cope with new innovations in the field of computing. In this respect he probably is typical of a great number of his readers . Thus, I believe he a good job. He is not going to be remembered as one of the great writers of this century, but on the other hand their really have not been a whole lot in that category anyway. I wonder if any body would read a column in BYTE by Faulkner? I do think BYTE would benefit from some more technical articles aimed at competent scientists, that is however an editorial decision.
