[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Kronos 2000 drv. Cont.

bruno.pronio@canremote.uucp (BRUNO PRONIO) (02/17/90)

I just recently purchased a Kronos 2000 Drive controller and I am not
able to low level format the drive. The program that I am using was
supplied with the controller (fedX). The program starts up and asks you
wheather or not you want to continue with the format, when I enter
YES the program aborts and gives me a device error. I know there is
nothing wrong with the drive because it can be formatted using Amiga
dos 1.3 and this controller..
If anyone has any suggestions please leave me a message

OK, everybody who has a C.Ltd. SCSI controller -- write this down!
There is an omission in the "SCSI Host/Controller Instruction Manual" that
comes with SCSIDOS 3.0. It can cause the above error.

On page 45, "Step by Step Low-Level Formatting of a Hard Drive",
there should be an ADDITIONAL STEP between steps (2) and (3). (Step (2)
says "Copy your current Mountlist...", and step (3) says "Now start the
FEdX program....").

Step (2.5): Run the DevInstall program by typing:

		DevInstall @devs:devsetup

Now proceed with the rest of the instructions.

This should eliminate the errors you are seeing.
