O.K. Folks - I have a simple question. I am working on my A2000 1meg, 2 drives, (nothing special). I am using ARP 1.3 since it has come over the net. It is nice - I love it. Sometimes i play around with CLI, (A)SHELL, Xoper2.2 (very very nice), and other nice little programs. Today I have discovered something strange. In ARP's NewShell please enter the following line type <newcon:200/200/300/40/inp | type >newcon:0/30/640/40/out1 | type >newcon:0/70/400/40/out2 then click with your mouse in the "inp"-window and enter a text and <RETURN>. The text appears in the "inp"-window (of course) and in the "out2"-window but not in the "out1"-window (hmmm). Ok now type ^c or EOF to end your input. The "inp"-window closes (OK), "out2" window produces a ***BREAK if ^c and vanishes instantly, but the "out1"-window is still open (urgh). Nothing can close it (really nothing?). So here is my questions: Why allows NewShell redirection with piping after that ??? (UNIX csh do not) Why do not close the out1-window ??? (it is still alive - says Xoper2.2) Is this a BUG or a FEATURE of ARP's Shell ??? ################################################################## # dnet : thomas@tubkom.UUCP # Thomas Hensel # # eunet : thomas@tubkom.UUCP # Technical University # # X400 : C=de;A=dbp;P=tu-berlin; # of Berlin (TUB) # # OU=prz;OU=tubkom; # Phone (030) 314 25092 # # S=hensel # -|-~\/\/\/\/\/~-|- # ##################################################################
