I've recently (finally?!) upgraded my A1000 to a A2000 and am now in
the market for a SCSI adapter, hard disk, and additional memory. I'm
currently leaning towards GVP's IMPACT SCSI + 8 to which I'll most
likely hook a Quantum 105 and populate with SIMM memory. Another
possible configuration is a hardcard (Supra's Wordsync, GVP HC,
Microbotics' Hardframe/2000, or A2091 (tho' I think it has non-SIMM
memory expansion, which I won't use) and Microbotics' 8-UP! SIMM.
How will I encounter [rumored] problems with a DMA vs. non-DMA SCSI
interface? Will the 1-board solution provide equivalent performance
to a 2-board solution? Is there any reason not to use SIMM memory?
Please email responses; I can post a summary later. Or perhaps I've
missed answers to these questions when previously posted and someone
can forward me those responses.
'ppreciate the help... thanx!
