[net.micro] "vi-like editor": Apple Pie

jim@rand-unix.arpa (02/14/83)

Apple PIE is more like the Rand Editor than "vi", actually. It was
written using the Rand Editor's ancient reference manual. Very good
editor. It's no longer available from Programma (which was in L.A.),
since it was bought by Hayden and mismanaged to death. I believe Hayden
Publishing still sells PIE.

I use PIE on my H89 (from The Software Toolworks, 213-986-4885), and it's
very good. However, it is limited to one file at a time, and the size of
the file is limited by the memory available (not disk-based). Still, it
feels better than any other editor that I've used on a micro.
