Enjoy! -- Leonard Norrgard Soft Service, Inc. ******************* NEW PRODUCT RELEASE May, 25th 1990 ******************* Product name: PostDriver, the PostScript printer driver Availability: June, 1990. Orders are processed on a first-come first-served basis. Order before June 7th 1990 and you will receive *free* air-mail shipping anywhere in the world! Description: PostDriver, the PostScript printer driver, enables users of PostScript laser printers to use the printer with ALL of their software, including programs that do not by themselves support PostScript laser printers. PostDriver has full support for PostScript fonts and supports all applicable printer commands in addition to its excellent graphics output and support. The driver is fully compatible with Preferences and is therefore very easy to install. At last all users can treat their PostScript printers just like any other Amiga printers! PostDriver supports printers with different resolutions, different paper sizes etc. Naturally, it handles both monospaced and proportional fonts as well as all the different text styles (normal, underlined, bold, italics and bolditalics), super- and subscripts and so on. PostDriver also supports the entire Amiga character set. If you need high-quality graphics printing, then PostDriver is the answer. It gives you the choise of using either the Amiga printer.device graphics output, or, you can use the halftoning machinery built into the printer for higher quality output. While PostDriver enables you to use all graphics printer settings, you can also benefit from the additional settings in the PostDriver preferences tool to control the printing process. Price: PostDriver, complete with installation software and a small manual is priced at US$ 39. Airmail shipping to the USA is 5 US$, to Europe 3 US$ and to Australia 5 US$. How well does this support Postscript over the AmigaTalk AppleTalk
clone software? Does it support printing to devices other than PRT:, in
other words? I can use stuff like WordPerfect easily by printing to LSR:,
but many other word processors and paint programs don't easily support the
AmigaTalk software.

It depends on how AmigaTalk has implemented printer support. I haven't seen it, so I can't say for sure. However, assuming that LSR: uses the printer device to process printer output then it should work OK. Since PostDriver is a full Preferences printer driver, anything that supports preferences printers works with PostDriver. If LSR: isn't using the Amiga printer device, you can still get the output to AmigaTalk using the CMD utility on the Workbench disk and print to PRT:. Just set the CMD output file to LSR: and print away. I'd like to check this with the makers of AmigaTalk, have you got an address or phone number to them? -- Leonard

Could you please post information about this AppleTalk clone software? Where can I get it? What is it? Gives it a AppleTalk interface to my Amiga? To work in an AppleTalk network?
