I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes. My aunt is going to buy a computer system to manage a construction company and a construction supply store. She wants something to do inventory, some accounting, etc. But she also wants the capability to have remote terminals to work on (at MOST 2). Problems I've encountered: 1. The only way to set up such a system on an ibm toy is to buy a $8000 (at least) networking setup, since they won't multitask. 2. I know there is networking software out there for Amigas (Dnet for one), but I don't want to recommend she buy an Amiga system, only to hear that she can't do something because "they only make it for ibm.." 3. Will the bridgeboard solve these problems? Can the Amiga access the ibm files and vice-versa? For example, could I set it up so that while the remote terminal is entering records in PeachTree (or some other accounting program), they could be running reports, etc. on the amiga side USING the ibm data files? 4. Finally, what would such a system cost? (i.e. 2000, 386 bridgeboard, networking software/hardware, remote terminal-- probably a 500??, possibly accellerator boards on the amiga side?) . Mike Carrato (BTW, I own a 500)
