I would like to recommend a wonderful little book called,
"Legal Protection for your Software".
The cover shows a floppy disk with a bike lock fastened
through the center hole.
It's by Daniel Remer, a silicon valley lawyer,
and published by mcgraw-hill.

It describes all the basic legal concepts involved with
software law, describes how to deal fairly with publishers,
software authors, programmer consultants, employees,
and so forth, and also includes boilerplate contracts
and recommendations on how to use and customize them.

It's no substitute for a lawyer, but it tells you what you really
should know before you try to go independent.
Well worth the $20. No, I never met the guy.

I found it at Printers Inc. on Calif. St, Palo Alto, CA.
