INTEL currently has their preliminary language manual out for PL/M-51. This is a close cousin of PL/M-80, but is adapted to the internal architecture of the 8031/8051. I am not closely familiar with said architecture, but you can access the flags by declaring them in your code, for instance. As well, the compiler takes a number of directives that concern the configuration of the software with respect to the hardware, such as the use of pages, and whether short or long jumps are to be generated. Since INTEL did a reasonably good job on PL/M-80, this should turn out to be a good product, as well. I am recommending that we get it for some of our own development and testing work. Getting info from your INTEL rep may be a trick, since this is preliminary information, but if you keep going up the ladder, you can find info for planning.
