[-] Just a note for those who are uncomfortable with the device named "WB_2.x" (partition were the 2.0 system is installed). You should not change this name, since the A3000 won't be able to find the WB_2.x:devs/kickstart file. One interesting 'bug': when changing the boot device name, my system kickstart is magically upgraded to >>v36.16<< without giving the normal grey screens. Where does it come from? No idea.. Normally those grey screens inform you that kickstart is being loaded (version 36.141). When booting in (bogus) v36.16 kickstart the system fail to load the workbench, asking for an icon.library of version >= 36 (the A3000 is shipped with v.34.2 of icon.library). A3000 - A logical step, but what a step. Nice work guys! The users that never rest! -- // Daniel Martin Universite de Montreal \\ // MediaLab, ca vous regarde! I believe 36.16 is the version of kickstart that is in the ROMs shipped with the 3000. Before you load kickstart from the hard disk, you're running the one in ROM. > // Daniel Martin Universite de Montreal \\ -Dan -- ___________________________________________________________________________ | _______ |________________________________________| | || |o| Dan Zenchelsky | | | ||____| | | Any sufficiently advanced bug is | | | ___ | dzenc@gnu.ai.mit.edu | indistinguishable from a feature. | | |_|___|_| |______________-- Rich Kulawiec__________| |__________________________________|________________________________________|
