hensley@kira.msu.edu (John Hensley) (08/03/90)
I'm done playing with DUP, SWAP, and friends, and would very much like to get on to even more rewarding projects, but I'm not having much luck interpolating (from C source and the very few JForth examples I've found) what is involved in some of the simplest tasks, like opening console windows or assigning a window to a custom screen. I already know about the JGoodies Fish disk; what I'm looking for is *simple* stuff. So if you've got some you wouldn't mind mailing to me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Alternatively, if anyone's got a not-too-old C compiler (that you've since upgraded, gotten bored with, whatever) and would consider trading it for JForth Pro 2.0, I'm about ready to huck this in favor of readily available docs and examples. Forth is hellish fun, but it's definitely not the way to learn to program the Amiga, and that's what I'm after. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ John 'Hawg' Hensley "LARD!
