     We are currently accepting applicants for a variety of technical
in the Commodore Applications & Technical Support group.  The CATS group
provides support to third party developers of software and hardware for
the Amiga and other proprietary Commodore computer systems.  

     The CATS technical support group provides phone and network assistance
to registered developers, and supports development by providing programming
examples and guidelines, utilities, technical articles, and developer manuals.
Inside Commodore, this group provides a link between the development community
and the hardware and OS designers, and offers valued input during the design
and testing of new software and hardware.  The administrative side of this
group handles all non-technical aspects of developer support including the
developer database, orders, developer's conferences, and marketing support.

     CATS offers a varied and challenging work environment with high visibility
and growth potential.

Job Description
---------------

The successful candidate for the position of Hardware Support Engineer
will be proactively dedicated to ensuring that Commodore's third
party hardware developers can obtain answers to hard technical
issues related to designing and building hardware add-ons---including
plug-in cards, interfaces, video devices, etc.---mainly for Amiga
technology platforms.


Responsibilities
----------------

o  To provide hardware development support to third party developers and
   others as necessary through direct contact, telephone, electronic mail,
   and electronic information systems.

o  Research and provide solutions to developer questions.  Can include
   testing hardware, communicating with Commodore's R\&D staff, and
   writing test programs.

o  Write technical articles and assist in the development of hardware
   developer documentation as needed.

o  Handle bug reports and follow up to determine a resolution or workaround.

o  Test new system and development hardware and software.

o  Keep up on on all technical aspects of Commodore systems,
   as well as new developments and emerging standards in the hardware
   area.


Education and experience
------------------------

o  Hardware design and development, or support experience required.

o  Experience in design and development of plug-in cards strongly preferred.

o  Programming experience in a high level language (preferably in `C')
   required.

o  Strong communication skills---written and verbal---required.

o  Must be organized, and have initiative.

o  Amiga computer experience a plus.

o  An engineering or computer science degree or equivalent experience is
   required.

o  Knowledge of networking and electronic mail systems a plus.

o  Knowledge of video signals and video hardware a plus.

o  Knowledge of MMU, DMA, 68000 family bus architecture and related
   issues a plus.

Job Description
---------------

The UNIX Support Engineer will be responsible for supporting
third party developers with technical assistance and product information
pertaining to Commodore's Amiga systems running under AT&T UNIX.


Responsibilities
----------------

o  To provide UNIX support to third party developers and others as necessary
   through direct contact, telephone, electronic mail, and electronic
   information systems.

o  Research and provide solutions to developer questions.

o  Write technical articles and assist in the development of UNIX developer
   documentation as needed.

o  Handle bug reports and follow up to determine a resolution or workaround.

o  Test new system and development software.

o  Keep up on on all technical aspects of Amiga UNIX systems,
   as well as new developments and emerging standards in the UNIX area.


Education and experience
------------------------

o  A strong working knowledge of UNIX is required (AT&T UNIX System V.x is  
   preferred).

o  Programming experience on UNIX systems required including `C'.

o  Knowledge of networking and electronic mail systems required.

o  Strong communication skills---written and verbal---required.

o  Must be organized, and have initiative.

o  Amiga computer experience is a plus, but not necessary.

o  A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.

Job Description
---------------

	The successful candidate for the position of Multimedia Standards
Engineer will coordinate the definition and expansion of standards
associated with multimedia applications.  Such standards include
file formats and the compatibility, interoperability and synchronization
of multiple multimedia applications and hardware add-ons.  Hardware
add-ons can include video disc and tape players, SMPTE and MIDI
interfaces, and video and audio peripherals such as digitizers,
genlocks, frame buffers, etc.


Responsibilities
----------------

o  Research and development of current and proposed multimedia
   standards including experimentation with multimedia systems.

o  Writing technical specifications of standards and participate
   in the development of other developer documentation as necessary.

o  Maintenance of file format standards.

o  Developing programming examples.


Education and experience
------------------------

o  At least two years experience with as wide a range of multimedia
   tools as possible including authoring systems, sequencers,
   video equipment, laser disc technology, MIDI-controlled equipment, etc.

o  Programming experience in a high level language (preferably in `C')
   required.

o  Strong communication skills---written and verbal---required.

o  Must be organized, and have initiative.

o  Amiga computer experience a plus.

o  Experience with graphics and related multimedia file formats.

o  A degree (preferably technical) or equivalent experience is
   required.

Job Description
---------------

	The successful candidate for the position of Technical Writer
will assist in the development of high quality technical documentation
to be used mainly by Commodore's third party developers.  Documentation
can include conference notes, books, and newsletters.

Responsibilities
----------------
o  Complete technical writing and editing tasks as assigned,
   including but not limited to: articles, tutorials, reference, and
   other materials.

o  Verify the accuracy of documentation (including program listings)
   through research and communication with other Commodore employees.

o  Use desktop publishing systems to create typesetting templates
   and completed documents.

Education and experience
------------------------
o  At least two years of technical writing experience required.

o  Programming experience in a high level language (preferably in `C')
   required.

o  Desktop publishing skills a plus.

o  Strong communication skills---written and verbal---required.

o  Must be organized, and have initiative.

o  Amiga computer experience a plus.

o  A degree (preferably technical) or equivalent experience is
   required.
