Thanks to all who replied to my recent questions re: C programming on the Amiga. I can now happily confirm that the educational discount program for SAS/C (Lattice C) is alive and well at SAS and shipping version 5.1. (I received mine yesterday). Since I've seen that some people are interested in this info, SAS's number is (919) 677-8000. The people at Lattice told me to ask for ext.7001 at the above number and that worked for me. The price is $150. A brief report on 5.1: (I didn't have a previous version so I can't make many comparisons on the actual product, and besides, I've really only glanced through the disks.). Apparently the name Lattice is being phased out. The disks (6 of them) have SAS/C labels and I received a package of SAS chapter title pages to replace the Lattice title pages in the manual. There is a "2.0 compatible" sticker on the box and the product includes both 1.3 and 2.0 header files. You can now compile programs from the workbench. Click on an icon and all *.c source files in that subdirectory are compiled. There is a preferences-type utility to set compiler options. This utility has the "look and feel" of OS 2.0. It looks pretty neat, especially for us A1000 owners. The editor has ARexx support. I did manage to crash my system by hitting a key combination that had something to do with ARexx without ARexx running. The only thing I noticed that I didn't particularly like (in the README file), was the mention of a new 1-900 technical support line that costs $2 per minute. It also said they would have support on BIX. Just thought I'd let everyone know the edu. discount is still in effect. Richard
