I've just started a programming project on my A2500/30. It occurred to me that there might be some public domain utilities that use the MMU hardware to prevent crashes. It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to have the MMU detect dangerous memory references, especially if it assumes you aren't running other programs at the time, or, at least only well behaved other programs. I realize that general purpose memory protection isn't feasible at this time, but anything is better than nothing. I wouldn't even mind if I had to use special library routines. Anything to stop those annoying reboots. So, does anything similar to this exist? Or do I have to start debugging my programs BEFORE I run them? -brett |Brett Coon | uunet!smosjc!brett | |S-MOS Systems, Inc. | "I'll repeat myself..." | |San Jose, CA | -Heathers |
