[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Need help with MG3

alfredo@ajahnv.lonestar.org (Alfredo Jahn V) (08/18/90)

Can anyone tell me how to map the numeric keypad (on an A2000) for use
in MG (Micro GNU EMACS). I have been using MicroEMACS 3.10 for some
time now (both at home and work - same exact program...). We use Apollos
at work and most of the folks use GNU Emacs. It has alot of featurs that
are not supported on MicroEMACS... So, I have been planning on changing
over to GNU, since I also have MG3 on my Amiga (haven't really used it,
though...). The only problem I can see is that there seems to be no way
to define the numeric keypad. I guess I could modify the source, but I
would rather not... I had to modify the MicroEMACS amigados.c file to add
A2000 keyboard mappings (since it came setup for an A1000 keyboard).

If there is no way to use the keypad, I just assume not bother with MG3.
Does anyone out in "net land" have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

  - alfredo

Hmm - that's the first request I've seen for access to the keypad. You
ought to be able to use the keys on the numeric keypad just like any
other key. That means you can't bind them to one thing without
changing the bindings on all instances of those keys.

The GNU emacs I'm typing at now doesn't have any support for treating
the numeric keypad in a special manner, so I assume it's got the same
limitation as the above.

In other words, I'm not sure what you're asking for. The numeric
keypad (I use it only rarely) should function as normal keys. If it
doesn't, then there's a bug in mg3 (or possibly RawKeyConvert). If you
want something other than that, could you describe it?
