[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Amiga 3000

roy.park@canremote.uucp (ROY PARK) (07/21/89)

I've heard that Amiga 3000 will be equipped with 25MHZ 68030 (now,
that's better!) and will include NO GURU ERRORS. I've also heard that it
will generate non flickering high resolution graphics (?)... I'm not
sure of that.... someone's saying that no flicker high-res will only do
4 colours (?). Or, did Commodore FIXED that problem?

I would like to see them redo the Motherboard with higher
speed/colour/resolution graphics chips and more channels in the sound, maybe
it's a pipe dream, but the graphics start to be a bottleneck with a 28 mhz
'030. Not to mention the dram chips you need ..

Does anyone have any information about the Amiga 3000?

Thanks,

Is there any way of determinig *what* job it is that Gurued when you get a
Task Held requestor under 2.0? Will GOMF work under 2.0?

I have a copy of "It's Only Rock & Roll". When I load it onto the Quantum
it starts complaining about checksums being wrong on my Work partition.
No other disk does this, and it's consistent no matter what I load before
or afterwards. I have another disk that locks up Workbench when I try to
load it... as if there's something about these disks that confuses DOS.

All in all, though, it's a nice machine. Really cooks.
