I have recently attempted to start using zmodem instead of kermit, and am having some problems. Configuration: amiga 1000 running jrcomm on one side, and a sun4 running the 'sz' and 'rz' programs (from uunet.uu.net) on the other side. Symptoms: When downloading files from the sun to amiga, sometimes, near the end of the transfer, jrcomm seems to escape from the zmodem receive mode, and so I see a bunch of ^H^H^H ^X^X^X type of garbage on the screen. I'm then left with a short file on the amiga. Doing a zmodem continue dowload gets the rest of the file OK. I've had similar problems with ncomm1.9, which leads me to believe that it is probably the unix side zmodem program. Is it the latest zmodem available (for that matter, is there any other zmodem available??)? Does anyone else have any problems running sz, rz on a sun (possible sparc alignment problem??). Are there any flags I should be passing sz? (I'm currently just doing a sz <filename>) Any help is appreciated. --Greg

There was a UNIX rz/sz in Xanth (I believe) in the /incoming dir. If its not in that dir, they are bound to have it somwhere on that ENORMOUS system -Joseph Hillenburg (Sultan of Asm) INET: joseph@valnet.uucp |MAIL: 1709 West Gray UUCP: ...!iuvax!valnet!joseph |MAIL: Bloomington, IN 47401 AT&T: 1-812-336-2969 |MAIL: United States CompSci BBS: 3/12/24 1-812-876-4407 9:30 pm-7:30 am |Mail replies requested Those aren't bugs!
