OK. I have an A2000 (1 meg chip + Super Agnus) + 2 meg A2630 + HardFrame + SupraRAM (8 meg capacity, populated to 4 meg) + SQ555 drive The problem: I just grabbed ramspeed off BIX (program is the 03 Jun 90 version) and was running it. Under the 68030, with nothing else running, and a SetCPU FASTROM CACHE done beforehand, I got the following: 32-bit RAM: 20.49 MHz Supra: 4.63 MHz Chip RAM: 4.36 MHz The program caclulates speeds by timing an 8192 byte loop of NOPs. I realize that the '030 takes a hit when it has to latch to the Zorro II bus, so I did it again after having booted off the 68000, again with nothing else running and got: Supra: 4.62 MHz Chip RAM: 6.92 MHz Now how can the Supra board be *slower* than chip RAM??? I vaguely remember someone mentioning that he found this out and that there was a fix (in c.s.a tech about 6 or more months ago). Internally, I have... || || S || || || H A || || u || || || a 2 || || p || || || r 6 || || a || || || d 3 || || R || || || F 0 empty empty slots co-processor slot slots when looking down on the machine, with the front of the machine towards you. Does leaving empty slots make a difference? Should the SupraRAM board be put closest to the CPU? Any ideas? Suggestions?
