Hi Amiga Tekkies, I have an A2000HD with 2MB of fast and 1MB of chip RAM. For some reason, my machine seems to work FASTER than others. Why? I have a standard 68000, so that's not it. Here's the scoop: I have a game demo that I ran on my machine, but it didn't work because the demo required typed commands to be in sync. with what was happening on the screen. On two other machines I tried the demo on, the events were in sync. and everything worked out ok. I tried the demo on an A500 with 512K of fast and 512K of chip. Again, a standard 68000 in the CPU slot. Also, I tried the demo on a friend's A2000HD with 2M of fast and 1M of chip. The only difference between our two machines is that his fast RAM is part of his Quantum hard drive and mine is on a SupraRam board. Also, I have a Rodime drive in my machine. I don't think the drive matters because the demo boots and runs from the floppy. Now, since my machine is out of sync., either the graphics were running slower than the text processing routine, or vice-versa. So, I timed the demo. It took about a minute and 23 seconds for the demo to reach a certain event on my friend's A2000HD, and on mine it only took a little over a minute! What gives? Is it the fast RAM? Should I run "NoFastMem" to try and slow it down? I'm a little confused about this, so please, if anyone out there has a clue, please drop me a line. Thank you in advance, -Ralph
