With all this discussion about scientific software for the Amiga I thought I'd let you know what I'm working on and ask for a small bit of help. I am writing a 3D image reconstruction program as part of my Ph.D. thesis project. I optically section objects suspended in a transparent material using a light microscope with a short depth of focus, and capture the images with a frame grabber. I store the sequential images in animation format to conserve disk space and keep the images together. I then plan to do edge tracking to extract contours in each image, and then reconstruct the 3D objects from the contours so that I can measure the objects' sizes, orientations, and locations. I FTP'd the IFF Disk from Commodore (Fred Fish #185) and planned to use the displayANIM program (w/source code) to extract the images from the animation file. Unfortunately, one of the include files needed to compile the program is missing, namely "functions.h" If anyone knows where I can get this file or can send it to me, or knows of another PD animation player w/source code that does vertical byte run length decompression I would be eternally grateful to you. (I have tried ux1.cso.uiuc.edu and trantor, but it is missing at both locations. The file should be located in examples/anim/functions.h on FF185). Thanks for your help. _ _ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ( ) Jeff Wille (wille@frith.egr.msu.edu) ( ) _(_ ^^^^ _^-^_ [KF8HZ] (wille@happy.egr.msu.edu) ( ) ( ) / / \ / _^^_ ( @@) 00 M @ @/ <@@ > >oo< "Never say anything unless you're (_^> (^)/ ( ^ ) o / @ sure everyone feels exactly the Marge Homer Bart Lisa Maggie same way." -- Homer Simpson
