A friend gave me 512K of memory today (two 8x256-bit strips of SIMMS), and has some more he'll give me, since he's upgrading to 1-meg chips. I'd like to install them in my A500 (which has an A501, by the way), but I don't know how I can do it without buying a 0K expansion board and populating it myself. The only problem with the latter approach is that I'm planning to upgrade to an A3000 in a few months, and I'd like not to sink any more money into this machine ... but on the other hand, I'd sure like to have an extra 2 megs (the total amount he's giving me) in the meantime. I did RTFM, but they said nothing beyond "you can stick an A501 in there, if you really want to," and I don't know how to interpret schematics. So, is there anything I can do? Anyplace I can put that memory of mine? -- Scott Maxwell (CSMAXWEL@ECUVM1.BITNET or Scott.Maxwell@samba.acs.unc.edu) --
