[net.micro] TI 99/4A Info. wanted

rjs (03/07/83)

I've owned my 99/4A for over 4 months, and though it does have its weak
points (slow speed and high priced peripherals), I don't believe it's
as useless as a $200 paper weight.

Anyway, in the attempt to save a few bucks, I decided it would be adventageous
if I could come up with my own expansion memory and floppy interface. So a
friend of mine and myself sent away for the 99/4A Data Manual from TI.
(By the way, the manual isn't worth the $15 their asking, even though it
has all the info. needed for the interfaces. If anyone wants a copy I'll
be glad to share it with you for a more reasonable price.)

Right now we have (on paper) an expansion memory board we think might
work. But before we go ahead and build it up, we were wondering if anyone
out there has gone down this road before and could give us a hand? Also
if any other 99/4A owners are thinking about doing this too, then let
me know, we could share information.

Send any responses to me via mail. If there's a lot of interest, I'll
post. Thanks in advance.

P.S. Still working on the Floppy Interface.
