I posted a message a few days ago saying that I could'nt get some st-506 drives hanging off an a2090 working after moving them grom an a2000 to an a3000. At the time I thought it was a problem using the a2090 in the 3000. The problem I was seeing is that binddrivers never returned when I pt the hddisk file in the expansion drawer. Well after much trial and tribulation, I have gotten things sort of working. If I get enough programs up and running, binddrivers returns OK and the drive works fine. My theory is that the hddisk driver wont load properly in 32 bit memory. When I use it up (by loading the programs), it is probably being loaded into the 16 bit memory on my a2088 board and it runs OK there. Can anyone shed any light on this? If this is not going to be fixed, can anyone suggest a way to arbitrarily allocate a given quantity of ram and then release it (I would, theoretically, run the binddrivers after allocation and before release. Any help is appreciated. Paul M. lzatt!pjm
