From: Ron Natalie <ron@brl-bmd.arpa> We used the Artemis Apollo (no relation to the Apollo domain) quite heavily at my former employer (Martin Marietta Denver Aerospace). (They expanded to have four of them, spread out in various places in the co.) The thing is a management tool. It does project, resource, and manpower scheduling and accounting and graphics. It's a really neat little system layered over the RTE operating system. The whole thing (Two four color plotters (one desktop, one for large charts), several HP terminals and the 1000 processor) came as a package, loads of documentation, and good support from the manufacturer. All this leads me to believe that it is not cheap. The scheduling functions it does are pretty complex, using what they call networks...you key in each task in a project: i.e. that this step relies on steps 2, 3, and 5, takes 4 calender days, 50 man hours, and 20 hours of lab time to perform. Type all that in and the thing draws you a big graph and tell you how long it will take. Once the project is in progress, you can input data on where you are, and it will revise the charts and tell you how far behind schedule you are. The thing is made by Metier INC...located somewhere in Houston Texas. -Ron
