Hello, I just downloaded the TeX program from abcfd20.larc.nasa.gov from the /incoming/amiga/TeX directory. Since I have a 2000, I downloaded the smaller version "tex3_amiga_small.zoo". I have a few problems. First. Every time I try to 'tex' a file, I get the error message: I can't find the default format file: and I'm not sure what to do about this. Do I need another archive from the site? Which brings me to my next question: There are many archives at that site. If I can remember correctly, there is one archive called PasTeX, one called PasTeX1_1, and then a couple of tex3_ archives. I ftp'd the tex3_amiga_small.zoo. What are the other ones? What is the difference between tex3 and PasTeX ? And finally, why do people pronounce teX as teK ? (And I ruled out the possibility that every one at this university is dyslexic!!) Is it an an unwritten rule? I couldn't find anything about this in any TeX books. Please send your replies via email, to gohel@sunrise.ec.usf.edu. If you send mail to the 'From:' address, it might bounce on Saturday Nov 3 (only). Thanks in advance. -Himanshu J.
