I'm going to try to answer both questions at once... first off, the guy with the GVP '030 without the 32bit memory and no co-processor. remember whenever you attempt to read memory, you have to do 2 memory fetches in order to get "32 bits" of data off a 16 bit buss and the memory ends up with what is much like wait states, the processor is always waiting for more memory (which is very slow in your case) secondly if you are useing "perfmon" on the amiga disk, that for some reason doesn't identify the '030 (maybe it was written before the '030 was available?) how does the gvp boards handle memory? simply speaking, it first checks for 32bit memory, if you have that, it is used first, then comes the slower 16bit memory. the system will however use all available memory.
