I'm dorking around with finding a reasonable monitor combination for the A3000 that I bought recently. I've borrowed two recently to see how they look and have some questions. I've just started getting into the Video display game and don't know a whole lot (yet) about how video display hardware works. 1) I put a VGA color plus (15 pin) connector on and got some real interesting results. Couldn't sync up to any of the display modes except for Productivity and Productivity-Interlaced. I found that most interesting. Can some one explain to me why it works in that mode. 2) I put a Sony 1304 Multi-sync but was not that impressed with the imaging. How does one actually trade off the different price/performance characteristics? 3) I've read about Super VGA which can do 1024x768. If I get one of these monitors rather than a Multi-Sync is it likely that I would be able to use it on the 3000. And if so what modes will work? 4) Is the pin out of the A3000 and "standard" IBM 15 pin VGA compatible enough? I've looked at the differences and there are some but I would think they don't matter that much. Am I wrong?
