[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Info/Example on writing a SCSI device Driver

ammrk@swpyr2.sbc.com (Mike R. Kraml) (11/21/90)

Hello: Well, after finding out that the current SCSI.device doesn't
like my ACB4000 SCSI to ST506 controller card, I came to the conclusion
that my SCSI.device driver is really the guy who is having all the
problems. Well, I know the Adaptec 4000 is a very viable product,
Cld and other various SCSI hdcontroller manufactures have supported the
product in the past, and I want to support it on the A3000. Therefore,
I guess my only solution is to attempt to develope a replacment device
driver for scsi.device. Fun you say, no doubt. Impossible, maybe, but
what the heck. So here goes. Can anyone offer me a decent starting
place for developing a device driver. I have been a C programmer for
5 years or so, but have never tackled such a large task, but I would
love to try. So, if anyone has any info on writing a device driver,
even better, a SCSI device driver, PLEASE let me know.

                                              Thanks in advance,

                                                    Mike...
