[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Best Assembler/Debugger for the Amiga

KCDYKE@MTUS5.BITNET (11/30/90)

Could someone please give some information regarding the assemblers/debuggers
that are available for the Amiga. I am looking to upgrade from Devpac 2.0 as
it doesn't support anything more than the stock 68000. I need to have 030/882
support. I am considering getting Adapt, but don't know much about it.

Thanks in advance,
Ken

There is a review of Adapt in the December AmigaWorld. But you should check
out its main competitor, Macro68, as well. Macro68 supports all
the 68K chips (yes, even the '040) and has a ton of unusual and powerful
features. Best of all, it's FAST (faster than the buggy ArgAsm in some
cases!). I've been using it for several months now and I'm EXTREMELY
pleased with it...check it out.

Unfortuntely, there isn't a debugger currently available for the Amiga that
can really be called 'great', so I tend to use a hodgepodge of tools &
techniques.
