[comp.sys.amiga.tech] UUCP help

bmacinty@mud.uwaterloo.ca (Blair MacIntyre) (12/11/90)

reply by email please: I don't read much news these days ...

Simple problem: setup - A1000, UUCP 1.06D
- I cannot let my modem ignore DTR, because of the system I connect to

Sometimes, after disconnecting from the other system, uucico goes
beserk.

It just sits there, flashing the DS/DR lights. There is no carrier, and
the line has been dropped. The uucico has been run from cron, and it
will not respond to any breaks. ie. break all does nothing.

Before, when I had it ignoring DTR, it would just guru the machine every
now and then, at the exact same time (after hanging up, before
uuxqt'ing).

At least now it isn't screwing up my harddrive filesystems, since it
isn't crashing. But it means I have to reset the machine and run uuxqt
by hand almost every day.

Does anyone have a uucico working on an A1000? Reliably? I'm getting
annoyed, since I want to leave this setup running over the break, but
at this rate it will probably just hang the first day.

Ideas?
