[comp.sys.amiga.tech] ARexx and the Workbench

fillg1@uni-paderborn.de (Michael Illgner) (12/11/90)

Hi folks,

I have written a little ARexx script to load a textfile in
my editor (UEdit, CED should be a similar problem), if the
editor is not already startet, the script starts it.
So, if I want to edit or view a file, I only write "rx ed filename".
This works fine from the CLI, but now I want to start this script
from Workbench, e.g. I have a project icon for my textfile and if
I click on it, the textfile should be loaded in the editor. I tried
to set the default tool 'rx' or 'rx ed' but this does not work.
One solution is to use a program like IconX or better IconJ, but this
opens an extra window and causes a little bit of delay.
I am looking for a solution, that uses only the rx command.

			Thanks in advance

Hi,
ich habe gerade die neue Version der TeX-Treiber aus Passau ftp'ed. Sie
sollen etwas schneller geworden sein und enthalten auch meine verbesserte
Version von SpecialHost :-).
