[comp.sys.amiga.tech] Opening CLI problems

sbeagle@kennels.actrix.gen.nz (Sleeping Beagle) (12/19/90)

Hi.

I am having problems opening a CLI with a close button that works.

Using the command Ashell con:0/100/600/100/Ashell1/Close/Size
gives me a shell window with all the right attributes (size gadget, close
gadget and the right title.) It works as a normal CLI until I click on
the close gadget at which point it jams - and starts eating up CPU
time. (Well, XOPER tells me it uses up CPU time..)

I have been using a review Amiga 3000 for a while and have to give
it back soon - but I want to keep the closable CLIs. Can anyone
help me please?

(P.S. THis is on an Amiga 500+590+2 megs running Jazzbench and Conman1.3)

(P.P.S. Anyone want to swap QRT files? DKB?)

WShell, from Bill Hawes, works just fine on my A2000. Should be
okay on your A500, too. The close gadget works quite reliably for me.
The only time I have any trouble is if I've got a program that keeps a
hold of the WShell window.

    Hope this helps [tm],
