Some of you may have already seen this request in other com.sys.amiga.* newsgroups. Hit your skip key now. For those who are wondering just what I'm talking about, I'm trying to find an Amiga kickstart disk which supposedly exsisted a couple years ago. This kickstart would boot your Amiga into the teaching OS known as XINU...Xinu Is Not Unix. This OS was written by Douglas Comer of Purdue University around 1984, and is attractive because that while it is not a complete OS in and of itself, it could be extended to be one, and is free of the trappings of modern AT&Tisms...you don't need $50k to get it. You don't even need the $100+ which Minix costs (and I hear it won't run on the 3000 anyway). You just need a little curiosity and work. If anyone has any info on this, please email me. There are a fair number of people who are interested in this, and we'd all appreciate your help! John Dormer dormer@medusa.cs.purdue.edu

Assuming that this still exists anywhere, would there be any way to get it running on an Amiga 500? (Short of burning PROMs, that is. Heck, maybe someone could burn PROMs anyway!) -- From the disk of: | jms@vanth.uucp | "Glittering prizes and Jim Shaffer, Jr. | amix.commodore.com!vanth!jms | endless compromises 37 Brook Street | 72750.2335@compuserve.com | shatter the illusion of Montgomery, PA 17752 | (CompuServe as a last resort)| integrity!"
