[net.micro] a note on the Heath/Zenith Z100

kfl (04/01/83)

According to the Zenith Z100 user's manual, the Z100 can run
all CP/M-80 software on the Z100's 8085 processor. I suppose
this is because the 8085, 8080, and Z80 use compatible
machine instruction sets. You do have to get the software into
the Z100, though. If it is 5.25" floppy, soft sectored, it should
run OK, except that the OS on the disk is not bootable, you have to
use CP/M-85 from another disk. If it is on another medium, you may
need another machine, such as the Heath/Zenith Z89 or Z90, to read
it in.
