Dear HP-41 Programmers: As you may know, I have written a complete MCODE development system for the HP-41 that includes a disassembler, assembler, linker, HP-IL communications utility and an MCODE emulator that can run the HP-41's operating system ROM's. This system runs on PC/compatibles. Release 3 with printed manual is available from me for $55 and is not shareware. With the HP-41 officially discontinued, I have not made many sales although there are still people actively developing MCODE. There must be hundreds of people that have tried MCODE and would be interested in at least playing with my emulator, but are not going to pay first. After much consideration, I have decided to make an earlier version, Release 2, available as shareware. The primary difference is that the emulator does not have the more powerful features such as halfnut character set, automatic assembly for editing ROMs, the ability to execute mnemonics, mouse support, etc. To get Release 2 send self-addressed stamped floppy mailer with a formatted floppy (either size), or send $5. I will try to get Release 2 loaded onto BBS systems and anonymous FTP when I find the appropriate site. You may distribute Release 2 freely and that includes putting on your favorite BBS or FTP. Also I have a limited number of printed manuals available for $15. If you like Release 2, a $25 registration fee would be greatly appreciated and is applicable to the purchase of Release 3. The registration fee is to support my shareware effort and make me more likely to release other stuff in the future. The $5 for disk and $15 for manual is my cost for materials and shipping and is separate from the registration fee. Warren Furlow 5595 Coronation Ct. Dunwoody, GA 30338 (404) 396-1862
