The PATRIOT Project Office is trying to implement a data management system for the Project Office. We would like to use the UNIX os for our native system, however we are not having any luck finding software to support the kinds of things which are required when manageing a weapon system. We need software which will provide us the ability to track several contracts for around five years, catalog parts (configuration management), maintain work breakdown structure records, generate reports, monitor budget activities and provide a communications capability. A lot of these requirements could possibly be covered by a good "user friendly" (whatever that really means) dbms system. I've heard rumblings from time to time of dbms analyses, but have only been able to get ahold of one report on a single system. Any information which you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Please send info to: fbrown@micom While I still have your attention, as an intereim application, I am trying to set up a mail system using an on hand machine which will not support UNIX. I need to locate public domain code for MSG and SEND. If you can help, please contact me at the above address, or phone AV 742- 3474 (COMM (205) 895-3474). Thank you; Frank Brown
