I just started reading this group a few weeks ago so this question has probably come up before. After reading all about the HP48SX I decided that although it looks great I really don't need a calculator that powerful. I went out and bought a HP42S instead. As I read through the User Manual I would like to see some other examples of useful programs. I looked in a couple of the ftp sites (gmuvax2.gmu.edu and plains.nodak.edu), but most of the information was for the HP28S and HP48SX. Is there an ftp (or mail server) site that has HP41 or HP42S programs or other information? Is it possible to program the HP42S in assembly (or machine) language as it is on the HP28S and HP48SX? Are there companies besides HP producing manuals or programs for the HP42S? Both Grapevine Publications and Solve & Integrate have some terrific after-market books on the HP-42S. There's also a little company here in town called Hewlett Packard that writes some pretty good application books for the 42. I don't have their addresses handy, but you should be able to write to them directly, address Corvallis OR 97330, and get some ifo from them. Corvallis is a pretty small town. Or you could phone them. Grapevine (503) 754-0583 S&I (503) 754-1207 HP (503) 757-2000 You can't go wrong with the HP-42S. It's a good machine.
