Has anybody else seen the new computer from Radio shack? It is portable, has an integral modem, 8 line by 40 column LCD with variable intensity display, built in BASIC, phone/address software, calendar, and word processing. It has a regular keyboard with most of the ASCII keys, memory expansion to 32k (?) and costs only $749(!) Pretty neat machine. Apparently it was announced Friday 3/25. The LCD is large enough to be useful as a sort of limited screen. This is the first portable (in my opinion) to have a usefully large display. The days of the computer-in-a-briefcase are near at last.

The latest Computers & Electronics issue has an in-depth report on the new PC-100 from Radio Shack that reveals its innards and some rather outstanding qualities for such a small machine. If there is a big enough response, I could shovel some of this info onto the net...
