[comp.sys.handhelds] And tragedy befell the unwary...

cleeland@rex.cs.tulane.edu (Chris Cleeland) (03/27/90)

My fiancee' has the HP-19B, the business beast in a package
similar to that of the HP-28 series. The other day she took
it out of her purse to discover that the cover to the battery
compartment was off. When she tried to replace it, she found
that the case was actually broken -- the parts of the case that
hold the cover on.

Does anybody know HP's policy regarding repair/replacement,
probable costs, length of time to repair, etc. She's got
a couple of tests coming up in the next two weeks, and would
prefer to have her trusty HP on her desk.

I must admit that I was slightly disappointed when she told
me that her calculator was broken. I've had an HP-28C since
the day they came out (I'm a poor student -- can't afford to
upgrade...YET!), and it's been through hell and come back
with absolutely no problems.

Please help an ailing business student...
