If anyone out there is doing development with the Intel 80186 CPU (B-step chips), be advised that there exists a problem when a DMA request happens while the CPU is doing a string move (MOVSB, MOVSW). It seems that the destination address gets all confused. I spent 2 weeks with a logic ana- lyzer and MS-DOS 2.0 trying to find out why my file directories were get- ting clobbered. Intel says the problem will be fixed come September when the C-step part comes out. I hope this saves someone else from some anguish. - Chuck Guzis
