I am looking for anyone who has some experience with DEC's
DECMATE II. Though I have several items of literature from DEC,
and have seen a model on display at a local DEC dealer, I would
like some in depth comments on the usability of the DECMATE II.
Do you use it as a VT100 attached to a host DEC mini (specifically,
VAX/VMS)? Can novice secretaries get going pretty quickly and
with a minimum of frustration and hand-holding? (novice means
in relation to computer and terminal experience) How quickly
was your model delivered? Do you have a LA50 or LA100 attached?
Is it trivial to pass printouts from the host computer through
the micro?
Any other comments on WP as it exists on DEC equipment (running
DEC operating system) are welcome. The VAX system we have is pretty
loaded down with database applications, so I'm not very interested
in some WP that would impact the VAX much.
