Hi, I am about to send for my 48 but I need a couple of answers first. Any help earns eternal gratitude (no money sorry :-) ). I hav access to both IBM's and Apple's. The IBM is a friend's the Apple is mine. I am thinking about buying an IBM interface kit ( maybe we'll share the cost ) and then making an adapter to make the cable fit my Apple //c port. But I don't know anything about interfacing. I also don't have the pinouts for the cable at the IBM end. My connector for the Apple//c is a 5-pin DIN. The pin assignments are (pins numbered clockwise): 1 DTR Data Terminal Ready 2 TD Transmit Data 3 GND Power and Signal Common 4 RD Read Data 5 DSR Data Set Ready I understand the cable comes with a DB-9 connector (male). I want to rig up a piece of cable with a femaleDB-9 on one end and a male 5-pin DIN to go to my //c on the other. This way I can just plug it into the cable supplied with the interface to use my //c with kermit and just use the cable alone when I am using the IBM. Anyone out there who can help just email me. Thanks. =========================================================================== ___ Tim Strong <TDSTRONG@MTUS5.BITNET> |__) _ _| _ _ Michigan Technological University | | (_| (_| (_| | HOUGHTON, MI 49931 U.S.A. ===========================================================================
